Whatsapp Tests Video Calling for Global Launch?

Ever since WhatsApp launched its voice call feature, rumors of a video call feature started roaming around the net. A few leaked screenshots popped up at a German website moreover. Now it looks, the rumors have finally been put to rest as the latest beta update is on the market for the WhatsApp for golem app.

When a user makes a decision victimisation the updated app, they get two choices to select from. One is for the simple audio decision whereas the opposite one is that the video decision possibility. However, the feature is not available to everybody. While the choices area unit there, only a few users in chosen countries area unit able to build video calls.

It seems there is some server aspect limitation that prevents everybody from creating the video decision. Since the instant messaging app has already enabled the choice in an exceedingly few countries, it’s possible the rest of the beta community can get the options presently in addition.

As with other updates, this will happen bit by bit. WhatsApp usually takes its time testing such new options. Even when it is done, the stable app rollout takes quite some time. The voice call feature was extensively tested in a restricted beta in addition and was solely obtainable through invitations at the start.

Soon after, the update rolled out for the stable app but it still took weeks before the feature was obtainable to everybody. WhatsApp has over 1 billion users to cater, so the rollout can so be terribly slow and will take a moment before going thought.

Other than the video decision feature, the beta will bring a feature facultative cluster invitations via links, QR codes or NFC tags. There are many under-the-hood changes and some minor tweaks moreover. We can update our readers once a lot of data is obtainable.

Users who would like to install this beta version (v2.16.80) can do therefore via the Google Play Store or sideload the apk. However, WhatsApp has already started rolling out the next version of the app (v2.16.81) which disables the video decision possibility for those countries wherever the feature is disabled at the server aspect.
